Job Summary:

The Daily Operations Clinical Nurse Manager has responsibility for the clinical coordination of personnel and resource management for the BEH surgical facility with 24/7 responsibility. Additionally, the Daily Operations Clinical Nurse Manager collaborates with the anesthesia staff to effectively manage, facilitate, and execute the surgical schedule for elective, urgent, and emergent surgical procedures. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for the delivery of safe, quality, patient care for assigned departments. Is responsible for maintaining compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures. Directs the continuity of care using an interdisciplinary team approach. Develops and implements ongoing programs to measure, monitor, assesses and to improve quality initiatives. Ensures the effective coordination of the patients care with other services, departments, and leaders throughout the hospital. Ensures provision of quality care and services by maintaining appropriate equipment and supplies. Participates in rounding and proactively responds to departmental, staff, and patient needs to improve outcomes. Fosters a culture of patient-centered care. Core tasks include daily and strategic operations including, but not limited to, organizing schedules, maintaining staffing levels, maintaining a constant state of DNV readiness, setting and meeting department goals, process improvement, patient safety, compliance, and all other duties as assigned.

Education:

Required:

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.

BSN degree required. Exception only with approval of VP of Surgical Services

MSN

Experience:

Required:

Five years clinical experience required. Evidence of Previous leadership positions and abilities required.

Trauma Center experience

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration

Required:

Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee. Certification in area of specialty preferred. BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.

Department Position Summary:

The Daily Operations Manager has responsibility for the daily clinical coordination of personnel and resource management for the BEH surgical facility. Additionally, the Daily Operations Manager collaborates with the anesthesia staff to effectively manage, facilitate, and execute the surgical schedule for elective, urgent, and emergent surgical procedures.

The Daily Operations Manager must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures. This individual further contributes to nursing and the Medical Center through support of the philosophy and objectives.

The Daily Operations Managers responsibilities include the accountability for quality patient care and the orientation, education, growth, and performance of the support services & environmental services.
